First Shabbat Update of Trip I 2025!
Dear Camp Wise Families,
The excitement of camp’s opening this week is palpable! All of us hold this joy while at the same time share profound concern over the escalation overseas in Israel. Our hearts and prayers are focused on peace in Israel and our world, while here at camp our full attention is directed toward the enduring happiness of camp for our campers and staff members. Rest assured that safety and security is our top priority every day and we are in constant contact with our JFC Security partners and monitoring the situation closely. Jesse Rosen, Mandel JCC President and CEO and I have been in communication about these events and our shared concern for our Israeli camp family abroad and those here at camp as campers and staff. May this Shabbat bring us closer to peace and safety in Israel. –Rabbi Dan
Shabbat Blog – Words for the Wise
On Wednesday night, the first night of the 118th summer at Camp Wise, it was beautiful to witness each cabin sharing bunk night traditions all over camp – under trees, on the fields, around the fire pits and in our Adelstein Teva Pavilion. The buzz of summer was in the air as each new community shared names, interests, and began to set the stage for their summer at the Home of Happiness.
The core of our camp is community, and this begins at the cabin level. On Bunk Night each group agrees to community standards, values, and our camper code of conduct which sets up the framework for our community of kindness. Yesterday and today, campers have traversed the campsite in cabin activities, trying out all of the incredible sports, arts, water, and adventure areas. Take a look at the cabin photos below, and a recap of each cabin’s theme and favorite activity from these first days of Trip I. We hope you and your family enjoy a Shabbat filled with joy, and a Shabbat of peace.
Shabbat Shalom!
