Camp Wise has taken on security infrastructure improvement projects. To support these ongoing security projects, there will be a security fee of $180 added to each camper’s tuition. This is in addition to the fees below.
There are many local and regional sources of grants and scholarships that help Camp be more affordable for families. Please see the drop-down for your home region to explore the specific opportunities available in your community. Please reach out with questions so that we may help you identify the support needed for camp.
Mandel JCC Membership
Mandel JCC members receive the best available discounts for Camp Wise. Camp Wise tuition is discounted by 12-13% for Mandel JCC members. In addition, membership at the Mandel JCC for families enrolling in Camp Wise is discounted by 9% from regular family membership price. To be eligible for member rates, you must have a Cleveland Mandel JCC Frequent Family membership for a period of one year. It must be valid at the time of registration and extend through the camper’s last 2026 camp day. For more information on membership, please call 216-831-0700, or email infodesk@mandeljcc.org.
The One Happy Camper Grant
One Happy Camper was created to ensure that Jewish children have an opportunity to experience the magic of overnight camping. This grant offers need-blind incentive grants of up to $1,250 to first-time campers who are entering 2nd grade or higher and are enrolled in a full session program. If you are registered for Rishon (two-week), the grant will give you up to $950. To learn if your child qualifies visit onehappycamper.org.
Camp Wise Sibling Discount
Families registering more than one child receive a Sibling Discount of 5% for each younger child after the oldest. This is an automatic discount which will be applied after you set up your payment plan.
Synagogues
Many synagogues offer scholarships to their congregants for Jewish overnight camp. Please contact your synagogue to inquire about the application process. These financial scholarships can often be combined with other grants.
Camp Wise Referral Bonus
When you refer a new camper to Camp Wise, we’ll give you credit towards your camp tuition for this summer and a special gift that your family
can use to bring some Camp Wise ruach (spirit) into your home!
- 1st referral: $200 off camp tuition,
- 2nd referral: Additional $300 off camp tuition (total of $500 off),
- 3rd referral: Additional $400 off camp tuition (total of $900 off),
- 4th -8th referrals: Additional $400 each off camp tuition (maximum of $2,900 off)
The maximum total referral bonus is $2,900.
This discount will be applied to your future payments after the applying camper’s payments are set up.
RootOne Israel Travel Vouchers
RootOne helps thousands of Jewish teens travel to Israel each summer for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Participants in the Camp Wise Israel Leadership Summer will be eligible for a $3000 voucher from RootOne towards program tuition, due to the generosity of The Marcus Foundation. Details of this grant will be shared by Camp Wise with campers registered for the Israel Leadership Summer.
Mandel JCC Financial Aid
The Mandel JCC offers need-based scholarships to its members. Register for camp and indicate that you wish to be considered for financial aid, reduced tuition. You will be emailed the necessary application forms, which must be returned within two weeks. Awards are determined by financial need; documentation will be requested. JFSA Summer Campership Program
Cleveland children ages 10-15, who do not attend Jewish Day School and are not members of a temple or synagogue may qualify for a FREE session of camp through the Jewish Family Services Association of Cleveland’s Campership program. This is a program for those whose household income is low in comparison to family size. Multiple siblings may be eligible. JEC Scholarships
The Jewish Education Center offers a Leadership grant for high school students, a grant for Russian speaking families, financial aid for Israael travel and other camp scholarships. Contact Helen Wolf at 216-371-0446 or hwolf@jecc.org.
Jewish Federation of Columbus
The Jewish Federation of Columbus offers scholarships for campers to attend Jewish overnight camp. Contact Bonnie Cram at bonnie@jewishcolumbus.org.
JCC Membership Discount
Members of the Columbus JCC will receive a $200 per camper, discount on tuition. Membership must be in good standing and will be verified.
Jewish Federation of Toledo
Jewish Federation and Foundation of Greater Toledo’s Experience a Memorable Overnight Jewish Initiative (EMOJI) makes Jewish overnight camp accessible for children ages 7–16. EMOJI provides scholarships that allow first-time campers to attend for as little as $250 and returning campers to attend at a significantly reduced rate.
- First-time campers: $250 per child
- Second-time EMOJI applicants: 25% of remaining balance**
- Third-time EMOJI applicants: 50% of remaining balance**
- Fourth time and beyond: 75% of remaining balance**
EMOJI Scholarships are limited to one session per camper with a maximum contribution of $3,000 per child, per summer. Scholarships will be paid directly to the camp in the camper’s name.

Local Federations
Many local Federations provide scholarships and other support to send children to Jewish overnight camps. Contact your local Jewish Federation for more information.
Home of Happiness Grant
Returning campers may be eligible for additional need-based aid. Families should contact the Camp Wise office for an application at 216-593-6250 or wisekids@mandeljcc.org.
Back Again This Year
- Our default payment options are to pay in full or with a seven-month payment plan from October to April.
- The Mandel JCC charges a 3% fee for credit card use on payments.
- To avoid fees, families may pay with a debit card or ACH bank transfer
- Rishon campers registered for Aleph and Gimel and Week of Wise campers, may have the option to extend to the full session. More information will be available Spring 2027
