Future Families
Our Mission
Camp Wise provides a friendly, supportive, and cooperative atmosphere that fosters individual growth at each camper’s own pace. Campers are encouraged to learn new skills and master old ones, to make decisions, to take responsibility, to be expressive, to live with others, and to have fun. Complemented by our Jewish environment, campers develop a deeper understanding of and appreciation for Jewish heritage and traditions while also developing a true sense of community. Camp Wise is committed to making sure that every camper leaves with a greater sense of self-esteem and self-confidence, and with memories that will last a lifetime.

Thinking about coming to Camp Wise, but have never been to overnight camp before? The activities sound awesome but you’re a little nervous? We understand how you feel! Going to a new place for the first time can be overwhelming. Camp Wise has helped over 116 years of campers (that’s a lot of campers!) feel safe and comfortable so they can do everything they dreamed of doing at sleepaway camp. We will be there for you too!
As a first-time camper, we will work hard to:
- Get to know you
- Make sure you have a fun summer
- Be there for you when you need us
- Keep you safe
We believe parents are our partners in ensuring a successful summer for all. Here are some things you can do before the summer to help ensure that your child has the best possible first-time camp experience.
- Ask our team about taking a tour of camp
- Attend an Info Session or Open House
- Reach out to set up time to talk with someone from our Camper Care team
- Watch some videos HERE of Camp Wise to see what the summer is like
- Come to New Family Orientation in the Spring
New Camper FAQ
We have lots of options for you! Our sessions run anywhere from one to four weeks long (or a full seven, once you’re ready for it!), and we want you to pick whatever length you’re comfortable with.
Our counselors are the reason we call Camp Wise “The Home of Happiness”, because they make sure everyone is having a great time! They’ll be your biggest fans, cheering you on and making sure you have everything you need to be your best self. The coolest part is that they come from all around the world, and can’t wait to teach you about where they’re from!
We like to make camp food a lot like what you might eat at home! For breakfast, we’ll have pancakes, eggs, cereal, yogurt, French toast, and more. Pizza on Fridays and chicken sandwiches, and mac and cheese are some favorites at lunch. At dinner, we love having pasta, tacos, meatballs, and cookouts. And it wouldn’t be camp if we didn’t end the night with some s’mores around a campfire!
